OK, but what if the nail polish dissolves the paint or worse starts melting the key itself? I ask that because it actually is quite possible to disolve one or both as nail polish often contains acetone which is a plastic solvent. Test it first!

Better yet just get a set of replacement keyboard letters if and when the originals wear off. Yes, they sell them, check Amazon

I answered that question also some posts back (Message 5 on page 1). The acetone doesn't melt my keys.

Also I have been in touch with the manufactures of my keyboard and they don't sell replacement keys. Not all keys are compatible with all keyboards.

Very interesting but the keyboard and cordless mouse together cost $182.00!

I see it listed on Amazon in the United States for about $70.
I bought mine at Costco for about $80 and it came with a mouse which I can't use with my computer.

I wasn't referring to replacement "keys". They make permanent stick on letter sets that will work with almost any keyboard. You can also get them for other language keyboards.

Thanks for the clarification.

But that's in the States and once again I repeat I need a Spanish keyboard and I am not going to import one from the States. Thanks all the same.

I have a problem (it's probably me, I type with two fingers and probably thump the keys too hard) in that very gradually the letters on some keys disappear, the "A" and the "S" are particularly prone. My small solution to this when I acquire a new keyboard is to paint the letter keys with several coats of clear nail varnish. Makes the letter last longer. I'm open to longer lasting solutions.

I cheat... I buy mechanical keyboards ($100+) that don't have cheap printing on the keys. My current keyboard is a LogiTech G910 which goes further and has individually LED lit keys. It was $179.00 when I bought it a year ago.

[quote=louparker]I, too, took an elective typing class in H.S. 60 years ago (I was the only boy in a class of otherwise all girls) and learned how to type on old Underwoods. That was the best and certainly most practical class I ever took

I had my hobby and a model 26 tty [and a 14 and a 28]to keep up my typing skills and bridge the gap between high school and computers....
and i still hit the GDM caps lock!! I still do most of my typing on rtty where the caps lock is not a factor..

Please accept my apologies. I was offering an option not realizing that local replacement was easy.

Some better quality KB's have clear silicone rubber overlays available to keep out the elements. You may consider checking with your local store to see if they are available there for you.

No apologies necessary. I've had silicone overlays in the past but really didn't like the "touch"ยท very much. Be best solution so far has been the self adhesive letters that can be stuck to the keys. I have ordered some and will see how they work.

If you're typing enough to wear out the letters, do you really need to look at them anymore? Just saying.

Belated thanks. I found them on Amazon.es. Relatively cheap too:
