Keyboard tip

I have a problem (it's probably me, I type with two fingers and probably thump the keys too hard) in that very gradually the letters on some keys disappear, the "A" and the "S" are particularly prone. My small solution to this when I acquire a new keyboard is to paint the letter keys with several coats of clear nail varnish. Makes the letter last longer. I'm open to longer lasting solutions.

Seems like a good answer to me! I've had to take a marker to make the letters bolder.

My keyboards are okay, but my TV remotes don't last long at all. Someone mentioned that tip last week. I'll try it with my next remote.

Careful that the acetone doesn't melt the buttons. Try only one first.

No, it's OK, it doesn't, not on my keyboard anyway.

Concerned about the remote, different material. At least mine are different material than a keyboard. Any computer keyboard "should" be okay.

I use mac and my wife uses windows. Her letters rub off, mine never do.

It depends on the make of the keyboard, not the operating system.

I've been a typist for about 60 years and "A" and "S" are the most worn letters on my keyboard that I've had for over 10 years.

You can get keyboards on eBay for $5.00 and up. Just keep a spare around. I have brought bulk at this price and they come 2-5 in a box. I just did a quick search on WISH.COM. Here is a wireless keyboard/mouse combo for $16.

Thanks for that tip that I am sure will be very useful for many people. Unfortunately not for me as I need a Spanish keyboard with certain extra keys such as "ñ", "¿" etc. without which I cannot write in Spanish. eBay.es has quite a few keyboards on their site but not as cheap as the one in your link.

If that's the case then obviously from the other responses, I'm not the only one.

I have been in other countries where the keyboards are different. Was very confusing for me. I understand.

I remember one time when I was confronted with a non QERTY keyboard that was almost impossible for me to use.
