On December 17th this year a friend of mine bought a D50 camera as a Christmas present to his 15 year old son. On December 22nd my friend died unexpectedly. Things did not work out well for either one. My wife and I will gladly take over teaching the boy how to use the camera, but we do not own the camera manual and have had no luck finding it locally. Would anyone have either the manual or a copy of one of the related instructional books specific for the d50 that they would be willing to part with? It would mean a lot to the lad and me. If you can help please pm me. Thanks Leon

Thanks again to all who have tried to help. I'll wait the rest of the day to see if one is available as a donation. If that doesn't help, I'll try to order direct from Nikon. I appreciate those who have offered to buy a copy and send it. I can afford to buy it for the lad, but if one was available, that would be good. There will be other needs for him in the near future so finding this book is just a start. Have a great new year. Leon

There is a site online that has manuals for most cameras. It is a donation based site. So you leave a donation if you get help. He has all the major brands and models. I can't think of the sites name off the top of my head. But if you put into the search engine cameras manuals.

Thank you very much. I have just sent you a pm with the address. I appreciate all those who tried to help. We will be starting teaching the lad in a week or two when he is more comfortable about using the last gift his father was able to give him. Thanks to all and especially you Chase4

I wish you the best of luck. If his parents were into photography I would think it will be a link to remember them by. Plus he can share his view of how he sees the world. I hope this works out for him.

Actually I know Tom knew very little about photography. I can't speak for his mother. However, I'm sure she loves all of her children very much. But this lad is the youngest and will probably be needing love the most. Thanks for your concern. Leon

I looked on KEH and saw this...
https://www.keh.com/209038/nikon-d50-instructions
It says it is the original that came with the camera!
