I just did a speed test if that is what you mean, its was 1.6mb/s. REJ.

Yes, thank you. My own connection is not a lot faster than yours, so it shouldn't be a major issue or make any difference between Windows 7 or Windows 10.

The Windows 10 upgrade is very big, so it will take a while to download initially, but it normally does that in the background before alerting you that is ready.

One of the utilities with the Windows 10 upgrade performs a system scan to check for any problems, it is definitely worth running that before you do the upgrade. As with all these upgrades, it takes patience but many of us have found it to be worth persevering with.

Good luck.

I uninstalled Windows 10 because I hated it. I could not find how to download my textures etc and then find them. You have to uninstall within 30 days. I gave it a fair chance but found it difficult for me to navigate. I have mastered 7 and it does exactly what I need.
When I was uninstalling it gave me a warning about needing a password for my computer which I did not have or even remember if I set one. Fortunately I went ahead and all is back to norm. Good luck.

Me too!! Totally agree. Yes, you can revert back for a period of 30 days. Go to Settings>Update & Security>You will see an option to revert to Win 7.

If Win 10 was running well with no issues, why do you want to revert back to Win 7. Win 10 is Win 7 vastly improved with cool bells & whistles!!

Unless you have a bunch of old software or old hardware that is not compatible with Win10 I see no reason not to upgrade I have been using windows since Windows 3.1 and this is the best OS they have ever offered.

Go to control panel, look up systems, click and go to restore to windows 7. More than 30 days you might need a windows 7 disk

Installed W10 on an HP laptop. WIFI refused to work and worse, lost all my Livemail storage folders. Reinstalled 7, WIFI returned, storage folders with a ton of emails gone forever. Yea, I know, I should have set a restore point or ran a backup. But in my naivete, trusted Microsoft.

I went up to 10. My printer does not operate as I would like. Should I reinstall the printer software? 10 is working ok, but I would like my printer to print my monthly calendar so I can post it on the refrigerator so I know what is expected of me on certain days.

Navigate to your printer's manufacturer support page and check to see if there are new Win 10 drivers. You can also go to Settings>
Devices>Device Manager (at the bottom of the page)>Printers>find your printer>right click on it and then click on update driver.

Good luck

Looks like a good video but how do you get to the first personalization screen he talks about? Looks like it only comes up when first setting up my search does not find it. There is a long wait on UHH for the ads to come and screen will not respond until the all do. (not a computer geek, be kind.)

Yes, you should check your printer driver software, and make sure that you do the Windows updates etc. I have made even very old unsupported (in Windows 7) things work with a little extra effort. It should be fixable. It always helps if you can provide precise information about printer models etc...

Go to settings, privacy, and through all the options, basic and advanced. Do that for all the settings, and you can unhook all of those Microsoft defaults. Tedious, but doable and worthwhile.

I checked the link great stuff. All I want is to be able to use Firefox and or Google chrome and google for my searching.
Edge and Bing no more, Thanks. REJ

I've not used either Edge or Bing on any of the six computers I've upgraded to Win 10. I use Firefox, Google and Thunderbird. I just said "no" when they recommended Edge and Bing and their email client. You can make a ton of decisions about how Win 10 works.

Unlike Apple, Microsoft has struggled for years to combine a good OS with wide adaptability to use odd software and hardware. (Apple has done well by doing the reverse. They control everything to make it all compatible, but not agile and adaptable.)

In fact, in a couple more months, I think we will see ten new books on "Fifty tricks for Windows 10" or "How to Hack Win 10" (Broad and inappropriate use of "Hack", but it's become commonplace, e.g. an article in a cooking blog on "How to Hack Breakfast".

What don't you like about it? They keep pushing to upgrade but I am always suspicious.

Well let me start by saying I upgrade my laptop to Windows 10 and that lasted all of 20 minutes before I rolled it back to Windows 7 Pro. For me Windows 10 absolutely stunk. MS gets people used to using XP, Vista and Windows 7 and then they come out with Win 8
(that was a bomb) and now Win 10. Everything that was easy to do in Windows XP - Windows 7 is either buried where you can't find it or it doesn't exist anymore. Case in point, I couldn't even find the "Devices and Printers" folder - it's gone away. You used to be able to "Right Click" on a web page and have the option of creating a shortcut on your desktop, that's gone as well. The list goes on and on. No wonder Microsoft is giving it away for free, I wouldn't give you $10 (or less) for it. I'm sure you'll hear from the crowd that has upgraded to Windows 10 and loves it. Oh well I'm glad for them; I did it just to see what it was all about and I'm not doing it again to any system I own.
