What don't you like about it? They keep pushing to upgrade but I am always suspicious.

Unless you have a bunch of old software or old hardware that is not compatible with Win10 I see no reason not to upgrade I have been using windows since Windows 3.1 and this is the best OS they have ever offered.

I think that if you are well versed in computers and have a very good internet service, give it a try. I did and found that I was short on both counts. REJ.

You are right on internet being slowed down by windows 10...

To prevent that, please check the thread I created, watch the video and follow the steps given to 'kill' windows 10 internet access (as well as protect your privacy).

As Ron has pointed out, Windows 10 has some features set to on by default that can soak up some of your internet bandwidth and also cause privacy concerns. These can be switched off by various options in the settings app, the equivalent of the control panel in W7.

Once these things are turned off Windows 10 should not affect your internet bandwidth or privacy in a bad way.

I was very impressed with Windows 7, but am even more impressed with Windows 10. Before you attempt to 'downgrade' back to Windows 7 I would suggest following Ron's advice, and possibly a few more Google searches about Windows 7 privacy. Once 'set up' properly, you may find Windows 10 works well for you. I have found very few issues that I could not address, and none that were a major issue.

Good luck.

That's pretty straight forward to set up if you haven't done so yet...

I had to go back to windowa 7 because witn edge I could not get on the internet to ask questions. IE. to send the message that we are talking about took 43 or 44 tries over 3 days.
With Edge if my internet service did not answer before 20 or 30 seconds, a could not display page would come up. When I hit the back arrow the reply form would come back but all data was erased. As I stated in the beginning I am not computer wise and I have a very slow internet service. I will try Windows 10 again only after I have asked many more questions. If you have a straight forward way to set up windows 10 please share it with me. REJ.

Since you are back to Windows 7 now, you might want to install Firefox if you haven't done so. In the Firefox tools menu you can then select options and search, which will let you select your preferred default search engine such as Google. If you then upgrade to Windows 10 later those things should remain unchanged so that you can ignore edge or IE and use Firefox or Chrome if you wish.

Do you know what speed your internet connection is? Mine is relatively slow (~ 2 Mb/s) but is just as good with Windows 10 as it is with Windows 7

You can only go back to 7 for 30 days after the win 10 install. If its over 30 days you'll have to reinstall 7 from your backup disks.
