You start by reading the fine print at the bottom of the page that you posted from. It says, "If you want to display a picture in your post, then please make sure to use GIF, JPG, BMP or PNG files."

So the answer is you don't. :-)

There is more fine print down there that I am not quoting which also might be useful.

However if you place the raw file on some other site (ex: dropbox or a personal website) you can include a link in your post to the file you saved in those places. If you do that, you might also want to post an allowed file type in your post.

I think that's the answer the OP was looking for. If the site doesn't provide a means to get a link to a file (they should all do that), get the full internet address of the file copied onto the Windows clipboard then paste it into the message before posting. Try to have the link as a standalone (or at least separated) line of text.

Jerry! I attach RAW files in the regular way. They show up as a download but no photograph is visible. Click download and the RAW file will download to the folder of your choice (or your desktop if you prefer). Open the RAW file with any program that handles RAW files to see the image. We often do this in the Post Processing section for those who prefer working with the original RAW file. Naturally you have to be happy to give the original to anyone who wants it.
See the example attached:

Just make sure you include the http://, as in http://www.photos.com as an example, because without the http://, the link is not created on UHH so when people click on it regularly, it is not achieved or brought up in their browsers. Just putting in www.photos.com does not cut the mustard on UHH as you can see that is not highlighted in blue!

Best Regards,
Tom

One thing you need to be careful with when doing this is file size. I used to think that UHH had a limit of 20MB, but I've seen people post slightly larger files, so now I'm not so sure..... However, I can tell you that less than 20MB is definitely OK :-) .

I'm not sure either, but to date my RAW files have always downloaded. So, lets hope I stay lucky.

Your RW2s seem to be in the region of 14MB - which is OK - but it wouldn't be unusual for a RAW file to be bigger than 20MB. And the same thing applies to TIFF files and others.

Good Morning, This is the second time I have tried to open your raw file and received the same results. I checked and find that my PS CS5 is up to date on Updates.

I also checked and find that Panasonic is a supported camera.

Something weird going on, guys. RG, says things will not work if the file is more than 20 MB. I can download my own RW2 file (14.2 MB) and open it using Perfect Effects 9.5; Photo Library, and also Lightzone.

Has anyone else had problems or has a solution to SoHillGuys problem?

Shakey I have determined it is a software problem causing the problem as it is not acknowledging other camera raw files.

There is no support for CS5 or apparently CS6.

I can try a reinstall, but for my shooting purposes, I can do without shooting in raw.

Thank you, at least it is not your problem.

Thanks for the update, SoHillGuy. I'm sorry to hear of your problems.
If you do need a program to open RAW files, and save in your preferred format, you could try Lightzone. There are downloads for Mac and Windows. It's free software after you sign up. (They don't bother you with emails.) The program is excellent and there are plenty of tutorials. Get it here to avoid malware: http://lightzoneproject.org/

Long after this is over here is a real work around that allows to post almost anything...

I am using our friend Shakeys avatar to demonstrate, if this still works...

http://static.uglyhedgehog.com/upload/2015/2/20/thumb-1424434013348-p1030678.jpg

If this works well you will be asked to DL a rar file of 56mb (Shakey's sample copied 4 times)

When you use this, create a thumbnail that respects UHH limitation and use it to describe what you are offering. This works for any type of document as you really host it somewhere else.

Use quote reply to see how this is done.
