Is that related to Heddy Lamarr's famous quote in any way?
"Any girl can be glamorous. All you have to do is stand still and look stupid!"

Cat,
We both know that good equipment makes it easier to make great images.

Struck a note w/ me.... Looking back, I have any # of shots I took w/ a point & shoot that I really like.... I AM one of those guys who gets caught up in the tech. but to paraphrase.... It's not the camera, it's the person behind it that really matters....

Without vision even the best equipment is no replacement for artistic ability and knowing how to use what you have.

There are two kinds of photographers.
(1) Those who are into it for the images
(2) Those who are into it for the gear.
Type 1 photographers are their own cure for GAS. There is no cure for type 2 photographers other than more money, and even that is not always effective.
YES - even the old Browny took some great photos when one was following the simplest "Rules of Photography"

Maybe that's where I went wrong. I'll have to dig my old Brownie out and start over!
LOL - I'm thinking of looking up some 120 film for a 1920's folding bellows style we have on the shelf - 40 yrs ago i took some decent photos with it.

SS
Kinda puts it in perspective.
It's all about the person using the equipment, whatever it is, to the best of its capabilities, and maybe a little bit of darkroom work.
(I wonder if anyone ever asked Hemingway what kind of typewriter he used.)
