I am searching for some objective lens reviews for the Sigma 105mm, the Canon 135mm L and the canon 100mm L I am wondering if the Sigma is jsut as good as the Canon, I shoot with a 70 D and like people, nature and just about anything that I find interestion. I also desire something with in the 2.0f. I hate flash but love natural light..

Thanx.

I don't have any of the lenses you are asking about but I do have a couple Sigma lenses and several Canon L lenses. I like my Sigma lenses, and for the money, the 105mm is an excellent choice. The Canon may have a slight edge with stabilization and keeping the elements on the outside of the lens, but as long as you're not shooting in a rain forest or tropical jungle a dust storm or a tropical storm, the Sigma is the way to go. Also, since you are shooting with a 70D, you really don't want to have your camera out in nasty wet or dusty weather conditions, it's not made for it. Go with the Sigma...

I'd look at a Canon site such at http://www.the-digital-picture.com/ as DXO tends to pee on all Canon products. You should also remember the 100L is a macro IS enabled lens that is not the same thing as the 135L. On your 70D it will also be 'longer' than 135mm. If I had to make a desert island choice of lenses, my 135L would come with ....

Yes. When using it be sure to specify your camera. Their ratings on lenses are affected much by the camera they test them on.

Unfortunately they don't test all lenses on all cameras. If they don't have your camera you are better comparing lenses on one they did test both lenses on. Hopefully you can find one near yours in resolution and dynamic range.

Thank you so very much, your response was what I have been searching for, the Canon lenses are pretty well reviewed but the Sigma 105 nothing more than a unboxing, who does not know how to open a box?
Thank you so very much,
