I know it's far from the ocean but the birds are actually Eastern Sierra seagulls. The Owens river and the aqueduct that brings water from the Mammoth Lakes area to Los Angeles provides great fishing for anglers and sources of food for the gulls. I go there fishing twice a year and look forward to the show in the sky.
Great series. In aviation, the pelicans would be the bomber planes and the seagulls the fighter planes. Something about certain birds and the formations they form while flying. Love watching geese in flight.
