This month of amazing photo ops continues! Just as I was leaving an area near the Toppenish Wildlife Refuge - having seen nothing of interest - about 30 American White Pelicans lifted off from a marsh where they'd been hidden by tall grasses. Then they circled lazily round and round 'til I couldn't hold up my camera anymore :)
One couldn't quite get in step :)

Thank you! Would you believe I don't recall seeing any other pelican species, and I have lived in FL and CA!
Neat, wish they could be viewed on ground. Thanks Bee
Love the first shot--off to bomb Berlin. Except there's always a dufus in the crowd somewhere, lol.
Lucky to get such nice shots of them, tho we all know it's not luck.
Nice job, Linda.

Good for you getting all the photo ops and taking advantage of them!!
Great series, Linda. Their formations are really interesting. It's amazing they can fly that close together without a mishap.

Thanks! I don't know how I did without burst mode for months and I don't recall how I first started using - probably a UHH member mentioned :) Warning: you end up with 3 to 4 times as many shots as you would have by not using it - which can be an issue when you take hundreds per week like I do - lol.
