Like Indi, a lot of us wish we still had cars we used to own, but, then again, a lot of us are glad we don't. I'm thinking of a '59 Ford that would be fun to own again.
Thanks, everyone for sharing your thoughts and photographs on this topic. It's not necessarily about old pics as much as it is about photographs that reach out and touch others. Thank you for sharing.

Actually, I like all the bells and whistles of the new cars. The Camaro was a 4 Speed, quick ratio non-power steering, AM (?) radio, no power anything, and no AC. I drive a 2011 Subaru Legacy which has most of the bells & whistles I'd want, not all.
But what I'd really like to have would be a WW II Jeep. Had a '57, and never should have given that up.

Well, this may take a while...... Guildhall Clock. Great treat to go "help' wind it up. (No I was not there in 1683 when it was installed.....)This year the Olympic torch will pass by (last stop before London) and makes me remember seeing it do so in 1948....The barges were still in use on the river and we would "help' drive the horses along the towpath and here I am marching into Trafalgar Square. (far right) I still make a point of going to say hello to Lord Nelson when in town. (No. I was not at The Battle.......)

As photographers, it's nice when someone can view our photographs and say, "yeah, I know what that feels like," or "That reminds me of where I grew up."
Here are a couple of photographs that do that for me, and maybe they strike a chord in you.
Do you have a photograph that takes you back to your roots?
Every once in a while I'll take a photograph that ... (show quote)

Thanks, Modest, for sharing your memories. When I look at your pics, I get a sense of what it would be like to be there as an adult, and I can only imagine what it would be like as a child. I think sometimes our childhood memories are more vivid than the memory of what we did last week.

Of course the black one in front is mine and the other is a friend's '68 SS. Circa 1968 at 23 years old.

-Bet you wish you still had it! Awesome cars!
