Every once in a while I'll take a photograph that triggers a lot of memories of when I was growing up. When I look at the photograph, it reminds me of the sights, sounds, and smells of a particular time or place.
As photographers, it's nice when someone can view our photographs and say, "yeah, I know what that feels like," or "That reminds me of where I grew up."
Here are a couple of photographs that do that for me, and maybe they strike a chord in you.
Do you have a photograph that takes you back to your roots?

Fabulous shots!
You are blessed to have such wonderful memories to be reminded of, and very kind for sharing them with us.

My memories are not pleasant, however... and it will be difficult to find something that reminds of me "good times" that far back. But I'll try... and will share here, too.

This reminds me of riding a horse as a child and the love of horses that I have. Every horse needs a child to love them. My grandkids have the same love :)

I have many as I am the family historian so I have a lot not only for me but for the family too. It's fun to get them out every once in a while and look at them. Matter of fact, did it yesterday with one of my younger cousin's who is doing a family history project for school. Had a great time.

First new car, 1967 Camaro convertible RS, with hideaway headlights.
Of course the black one in front is mine and the other is a friend's '68 SS. Circa 1968 at 23 years old.

Didn't Ian make you forget those unpleasant memories?

I know exactly what you mean. Your first photo is a prime example. Only in my memory, the telephone poles are on the other side of the road. Not a joke. I can go to Camden Illinois and take almost the exact same photo driving into Rushville to get supplies. Pretty neat.

You may be sorry you asked. I could never have wished for a better life with so many great memories, most of which involved horses. I am an artist and even my art is all about horses. Most of my photography is about horses. they are laced into every phase of my life. Too many pictures to show why, but here are a few I bunched up together. I have floated on many clouds! These were taken by people with different cameras, some old, so no good photos here, just my happy story.
