They do well in a clean jar, they will need a live bug from time to time but a few drops of water will allow them to hydrate and I am pretty sure that they will live a long time, I have never tried to keep on more than a week or two. Water is extremely important, also just a tiny bit and it is best to cover the jar with a screen rather than a lid so that it does not build excessive humidity. I also will put a small piece of wood or something in there to give them some structure to climb on.
I found a great jumper specimen at my son's a few weeks back but let him (her?) go since I didn't want murder on my hands. Will take your advice and try again another day. Thanks.
