I Like it !!! BTW, your shutter was 1/200th not 1/250th like your ISO... My wife lived in Calgary back in the mid 70's... Loved the area.

Looks like you got a good lens there. Nice focus, at that f-stop not much DOF, but excellent for this photo, a good looking subject, and the skill to put it all together.

Maggie, are you referring to the lens, the cat or the dof?! ;-)

I think it's a picture of a cat.

The eyes are beautiful; well focused. But the nose and ears are out of focus. As nice as fast lenses are, I don't see any advantage in using them wide open when your DOF is ½ inch.

By the way, how did you get her to stay still long enough to focus and shoot?

That's part of the point of a lens with that wide of an aperture - to focus in on one particular element. I found the portrait to be of an excellent quality - it's all about the eyes of your subject - that's what draws the viewer in and holds them. But, since it is art and a form of one's own expression and to each viewers' own tastes/preferences...to each their own as they say.

I enjoyed the shot very much...especially the download version.

The cat stayed still long enough probably because it was in a happy place resting on that arm... ;-)

Thanks everyone, I just wanted to test out the lens at the widest opening, I won't probably use 1.2 most times but I had some fun using it.
