Very nice images. No. 4 is my favourite, but no. 3 is a strong second.

I'm sure someone, probably your mother, told you that when you were old enough to understand. It was good advice and should probably be heeded now but is tough to follow when the sunrise is somewhat dramatic.

Here are some shots that show the sun competing with some smog from the recent wildfires. The effect is the result of a "natural" filter which enhances some of the colors at dawn.

These are really really good Vickie; I like all of them!

Great sunrise captures Vicki. the clouds in #1 look like packing bubbles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Jim. I hadn't made that comparison, but think you're right. Now I'm going to want to reach through the screen and start popping them. :-)

Excellent set Vicki, such beautiful colours. love #4.  :D

Many thanks for the visit and comments Sylvia. The colors were certainly more exotic with the smoke haze. Thankfully we've had a bit of rain to help reduce the fires that have plagued the area.

Great analogy

Thank you Lenny. :-) I can really relate to that statement. Chocolate chip cookies (homemade with real butter) are without a doubt my favorite food.

Some very good sunsets. Beautiful.

Thank you Larry. Now if I could only get some of those magical night shots with the Milky Way at its best as you so often share, I would no longer be quite as satisfied with this kind of image.

Very nice set. Yes smoke will do that.

Thanks for the visit and comments Jimmy. Sadly there's a price to be paid for the smoky "filter." Many lost their homes and/or lives as a result of the fires that produced this smoke.

Good examples of playing with the light, and learning how to operate a camera under different, and sometimes difficult conditions. I absolutely love this type of shooting because your never know what your going to get, and almost always we learn something. These new camera's are capable of much more than we believe. Thanks for posting this Vicki, and for pushing the envelope, that is one of our jobs!

Thank you for the very thoughtful comment Phil. I always debate about aiming at the sun for shots like these, wondering whether the sun might wreak havoc with my sensor. I'm careful about my eyes, too.

Thank you Sue. My mother was good at making suggestions or offering warnings to keep me safe. I'm glad my eyes didn't suffer and my face didn't "stay that way" after making all of those silly faces. :-)

Thanks so much for looking and commenting Murray. I'm glad you liked those shots and appreciated the more abstract look of #3.
