Well sometimes you just have to tempt good advice!!...great for us that you did!!

I think I also read something about camera sensors and the sun. Oh well, what do I know. I figured if I could glance at it, the camera would be fine, too.

I'm glad you enjoyed these Bob, and I appreciate your visit and comments.

As lousy as my eyes are these days, I'm not sure I could see it if I looked straight at it, lol.

But at least I can see these images, just beautiful, and certainly agree with Doddy about number four. Super!

Nice work, Vicki!

Think of the vitamin D you get when you're in the sun. :-) The sun gets a bad rap half the time. When our eyes and skin aren't getting fried, I guess we can enjoy it especially when there are a few clouds and nice colors to make it interesting. Once in awhile, you might even get a pretty sunrise or sunset to inspire you. I was glad I got up early enough to watch the progression.

Thanks for taking time to look and comment Randy. I always appreciate hearing from you and reading your thoughtful replies.

Vicki - all really very nice photos - I love the colors.

Some of our sunrises are very ordinary. Like you, I liked the colors in these. I guess we have the smoke to thank for that, but sadly that comes with a tremendous cost.

Beautiful series, Vicki! Enjoyed these a lot.

Many thanks Linda. I'm really glad you liked these. The smoke from some of the local wildfires was responsible for the subdued colors.

What a nice series Vicki. Beautiful color that is not overstated. They're all tops but No.4 is particularly excellent, it's the composition in my opnion.

I'm glad you liked that shot. I debated converting the shot to a vertical format, but it seemed to take in the best of the reflection, sun and clouds. The little bit of remaining water in the wetlands provided a nice reflection that was a little tricky to capture.

Thanks for the visit and comments my friend.

These are spectacular, Vicki. Excellent set.

Thank you Earl. I'm glad you enjoyed the series. I glance out the window every morning when I rise just to see what kind of sunrise is developing. These were a couple of the more dramatic ones we've had recently, and smoke from nearby wildfires added some interesting color we don't usually see.

I'm sure someone, probably your mother, told you that when you were old enough to understand. It was good advice and should probably be heeded now but is tough to follow when the sunrise is somewhat dramatic.

Here are some shots that show the sun competing with some smog from the recent wildfires. The effect is the result of a "natural" filter which enhances some of the colors at dawn.

Very nice Vicki

I agree doddy,
however in the camera club I use to belong to some would say it looks like a layered cake. I love layer cakes LOL.
