Was in the Tetons and Yellowstone for 9 days ending our trip two weeks ago. Didn't experience the smoke as some folks who arrived from Glacier... where they said the air was smoke-filled.

Enjoy yourself. And think twice about driving at night; large animals on the road are a serious hazard in many areas.

The smoke comes and goes with the weather and the fires. We had it bad in SE Idaho last month, then none, and now it is creeping back. Don't try to predict it or let it affect your plans.
It can provide for some interesting scenes (e.g. Sunsets) and doesn't affect close shots such as hot pools and some animals.

Smoke started yesterday and got bad today. Don't know where the fire is . Looks like in Yellowstone. Check and see if Moose - Wilson road is open(they closed it due to ,too many bears and tourists) if it's open the black bears are having a great time eating berries. Have fun it's supposed to get colder this week.

No smoke a few days ago. We are now in Yellowstone an it's getting much cooler.
