iv'e used nikons almost my whole time in photography....from the "f" series to my old d-70....i also use a point and shoot pocket nikon....i have never had a bit of trouble with any of them....i've slowed down a lot and am only mostly using my pocket nikon....i have a friend that's a canon owner and he swears by them....seem both brands are pretty good units....just a matter of choice i guess......

Well, inasmuch as you did not deem it necessary to use "Quote Reply" and the only post we have to refer to is yours, I'd be inclined to agree. I'd all add unproductive, insipid and sophomoric.

I have a D90 in near constant use, a D60 converted to infrared and a D200 converted later to color infrared and all work perfectly. My son dropped his D90 into the ocean and I sent him one of my old D200's and he is using it constantly. Ocean does cause some issues with Nikons, probably Canons and Sony also.

It seems like most of the problems here has to do with Nikon. Now that I threw that out there don't get you panties in a bunch. I am not slamming Nikon. Is it because there are more Nikon users. I am not trying to stir up a pot I just wanted to know about the ratio in the Canon and Nikon and Sony users. I was thinking about finding an older Nikon and buying it to learn both sides Of the camera issue. It just a question. I kid about Nikon cameras but Nikon does make a good camera and I want to have some knowledge. I need to be learning things I can't just sit and watch TV all day when I can be learning about cameras. I do a lot of reading about all cameras, all cameras. It keeps my mind, what little I have going all the time. I don't want arguments just true facts. Thanks all...

Ask a Chevy or a Ford owner and you will see what bias is all about. LOL

I have old Nikons, and old Canons, and both are still fine. My Nikon N8008s gives great 35mm film images, as does my Canon A1. Treat any well built camera well, and it will usually perform well for a long time. My Grandfather's old Kodak 'Brownie' camera still works well. Trying to start an argument between Canon owners, and Nikon owners, is a childish thing to do. Grow up, and get a life.
