Very nice. The tree trunk reflections shot is eye catching.

Beautiful images. I love the last one with the trees reflecting in the water and the loon.

Glad to have you visit and take time to share your comment, srfotog! My lens would hardly reach the loon but I couldn't have come home without some way to remember it!

Thank you, Murray! Since the loon was part of the story, I thought it should be included--didn't expect anyone to take any special note of it. Glad that it caught your eye!

The expression "be careful what you wish for" never rang more true than when we went to photograph Herbert Lake at first light. We arrived an hour too early because Alberta isn't on our DST. We waited in the dark taking occasional shots waiting for the big burst of morning sun on the peaks. Well, that didn't happen--not that day anyway. Mist and low clouds hung around well past sunrise. But the resulting images are worth more to me than anything I could have asked for. And, as we stood in the dark looking through the mist, we heard the lone voice of a loon as it skimmed across the lake, barely discernible to our eyes. When we returned many days later under cloudless skies, the magic of the moment was gone.

I know you're right, Rich--some golden opportunities are a gift you can't plan or earn, and never duplicate!

You BETCHA! And I can't imagine traveling anywhere without my camera to preserve the memories of the beautiful scenery all around me. I have a deep affinity for the National, State, and Provincial Park systems. That someone a hundred years ago had the vision and love of the land to preserve the 'best of the best' for future generations just fills me with unending gratitude.

I really appreciate your comments, Phil--and you said it well, we WERE truly blessed. I told Sam how I hate to pray for anything specific, that I only ask to be in the right place at the right time.
