Here is the first of my Zoo and Aviary shots. I'm still going through them:
Great shots! The weather could have been better. Over cast and light rain in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Can't waite to see the rest!
thanks Greg and Don...
On these shots I used my Canon EF 85mm f/1.8. It's a pretty sharp lens for the money.

It sure seems to be a nice lens, but you had something to do with it also.

Love #2 the best.
Around here those birds use to walk free. They were very smart birds, always used the cross walks and looked both ways.
You need to go back and get some more good ones. These are great. Which zoo? Thanks for sharing.

Looks like you had a productive day. I like very much the way you composed the elephant photo, an unorthodox but very workable and interesting image. The third photo, of the eagle, is well composed and is very nicely exposed. You did not blow out highlights on the eagles head at all, which is what I probably would have done. You also caught him with an almost contemplative look, very cool. The leopard is good but for my taste I would like him lightened a tad.
I think the peacock shot is stunning. Perfect composition, exposure and colorful impact. I think it's A One. Looking forward to seeing some more from your trip. 8-)

It was the Pittsburgh Zoo and the National Aviary.
Thanks for the comments.

Thanks for he comments; it was very hard to get the shots; Pitt is a zoo where you shoot through thick glass a lot of the time (not something I've been used to) and elbow to elbow with others. :)
I'm amazed that I didn't have problems with glass reflections any more than I did. I think that because it was cloudy that helped a lot.
Lovely shots! Love the elephant, really unique way to look at it. :D
My favorite so far has to be the peacock---great composition and color. You set the bar high for future shots but keep them coming........
