No, there is battery drain in the battery itself even if not in the camera. There is also a data settings battery in the camera that charges off the main battery. The camera will go into shutdown mode if left sitting and powered on but all that does is kill the display, so if you want make sure it's off use the switch.

Yes, there is a self discharge - per wikipedia for Li batteries, it is about 8% per month at 21 degrees C, 15% at 40 C, and 31% at 60 C. This is to be expected for a electrochemical system. My tests were for the a6000 being turned off, but the airplane mode was off. Camera settings are probably saved in flash memory which would not need refreshing. The only other thing would be the camera clock. Per a camera store rep the internal battery once charged should maintain all settings for about a year. The battery drains were far greater than expected and the issue was why.

Not quite mostly the same. The A7Rii has 5 axis stabilization. The A7R does not. The A7Rii has phase detection, and many dedicated spots on the sensor for this. The A7R does not. There are more, but these are the big ones.

And the fact that the A7Rii is going to be able to focus very fast with the Metabones adapter with Canon lenses. The A7R is very slow and has to do it with Contrast detection.

And that the A7Rii is supposed going to have an adapter available to autofocus Nikon F lenses.

These are not insignificant.

All these are absolutely non significant as I was comparing A7rii with A7ii, not A7r. Just check my comments again and read carefully which A7 models I am talking about.

The Zeiss 35mm f1.8 is a lens designed for aps/c cameras like the a6000. It can be mounted on a full-frame camera like the a7r or a7rii, but the image will be cropped. Sony full-frame lenses for e-mount cameras have the prefix FEnnnn; cropped lenses just hva the prefix Ennn.

Enjoy your A6000 - it is a great camera.

I did Galapagos with the A6000 and the 18-50 and 55-210 lenses plus 3 batteries.
It worked great for me and got great pictures. My backup was Canon 70D, which I stopped cary towards the end of the trip.
Enjoy New Zealand it's a great place.
Take a backup hard drive also. WD My passport Wireless is lighter than carying a laptop.

What adapter would I need for this lens on the a6000 and 7 series?

Hi again. Now I have figured where to buy an adapter to use this lens and other Nikkor lenses that do not have aperture ring on them on the Sony A7 lineup and other Sony cameras with E mount. This here is the adapter of my choice for this kind of lenses. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nikon-G-AF-S-DX-Lens-to-Sony-NEX-5-NEX-5C-NEX-5N-NEX-5R-Adapter-Aperture-Control-/221463082534?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33903a7626
