We were at Port Issac last Friday and they were filming the latest series of Doc Martin,-- In the series Port Issac, on the west coast of Cornwall, is called Portwenn and this scene was outside what is Portwenn School with Caroline Catz who plays Doc Martins wife Louisa, formally Glasson in the earlier series prior to there marriage. We didn't see Martin Clunes (Doc Martin) as he was on set the day before.

That's gotta be rough for the people living there. Great series, though.

Thanks Jerry, They use a lot of locals to control traffic and the visitors and so its a double edge knife for them, on one side there village is taken over for 17 weeks by film crews and actors, but on the other side it had bought much needed money to the few shops.
But for the old folk its very difficult trying to get in out out with there cars as you can see, this is the main street through the village, and this isn't one of the narrowest streets?

Cheers Bob, Its so very interesting, and I found the film crew very accommodating with my curiosity, I even had a "play" with one of the cameras between filming, amazing pieces of equipment.

I watched a documentary last night, and at the end, I saw that Caroline Catz was the narrator. The commentator for another documentary had a very familiar voice, and I finally figured out who it was - Richard Hammond (Top Gear).

Very interesting series, Geoff. I've always been fascinated by movies and the art of making them. You've captured a bit of that magic here. You were fortunate to get so close to the action.

Hi Jerry, I hadn't realised that she did that kind of work, I know she also has a staring roll in a police drama though,--as for the hamster (Richard Hammond), it will be interesting what he will do now that him, James May and Jeremy Clarkson are finished with top gear? I think its their last show any time now.
