I have one, fantastic lens but for landscapes I use my Nikon PC-E NIKKOR 24mm f/3.5D ED Tilt-Shift Lens a lot more. I either us it to frame my subject the way I love it and in perfect Perspective or I flip it and take 3 shots to later stich together, FANTASTIC lens. I now use the 14-24 for more in your face type of shots and interior shots of small spaces like bathroom walk-in closets, small kitchens

A photographer buddy of mine has the Nikon 14-24 2.8 ultrawide zoom. I guess he really likes it, says it is one of his most-used lenses. The darn thing costs $1,999, and it's heavy, but he swears by it, says once you get to know the characteristics of the lens you can practically leave it on the camera. He does landscapes mostly, but also uses it for regular shooting. It's incredibly sharp. I've checked it out, there is a slight curvature at the edges, but not as much as you would think. He likes it for candid shots too. If anybody on the forum has one, let me know what you think. Thanks.

It is a great lens. I think for a more versatile lens I prefer the Nikon 24 to 70, 2.8. One thing about the 14 to 24 is you can't get a protective lens (UV or !A) for the front of the lens. That's a huge piece of glass hanging out there.

Good shooting

Check out the cost of the filter adapter rings ($$$) if you plan to use CPL filters for outdoor landscapes.

It's a pretty fantastic lens. I shoot landscapes with my D800 and have the Nikon Holy Trinity. this is a WIDE lens, so just make sure you really have a need for it. I find myself usually keeping on the 24mm end and my 24-70 is just as good. I'd recommend checking Nikon's online store and buying a refurbished lens. I saved quite a few bucks by doing so, and the lenses arrive "as new".
