am I reading this right . Your going to get both of these . So your gaining
70mm to 140 mm on the front end with the 70mm -300 mm as in the next few days your getting a 150-600 , on the top end of that your only gaining
300 mm over what your getting on the first one . I would just get the 150-600, and pick up nikon 35mm mm which would be normal cheep . And a 80 mm later on maybe a macro . That's big over laps on what your getting IMHO

A 70-300 is much easier to carry/manage when you do not anticipate needing over 300 ......

I currently use a Nikon D7100 body and hope to upgrade to a D750. I usually take skiing and mountain biking pics. For mountain biking, shots can be close and without a lot of time to focus due to the trees and twists and turns of the trails. I tend not to prefocus as bikers lines do vary.

I also have a Tamron 24-70 but I wonder about the speed of the autofocus against a Nikon 24-70. Therefore I now wonder about the Tamrons speed of autofocus against the Nikon.

Can anyone provide any advice on speed of autofocus of these two lens?

Many thanks in advance.

I can't say anything about the Tamron, but the Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 is one fantastic lens. Excellent low light focusing, VR, and extremely sharp even wide open. I can highly recommend this lens.
