I continue to be amazed at the depth of knowledge and generosity of the members of this forum. Again, thank you all....Gene51, burkphoto..a special thanks to you. My main takeaway from this discussion is that I need to scurry back to my calibration software disk and this time read the damn instructions...."When all else fails, read the instructions"....;)

Gene 51, Burkphoto and I all seem to come from similar training. I think mine may be the oldest- I started doing Dye Transfer Printing in a Commercial Lab in the 60"s- the last large lab I worked for was Meteor Photo in Troy MI Until 1990. I've worked in Specialty Wordworking Retail after that and am now retired. My transition to digital has been strictly as a hobby, but it is impossible to unlearn the desire for the control and quality I worked to all my adult life. Even when my budget doesn't allow me to have the latest and greatest I do maintain the techniques of color Management in capture, Processing and having images printed. What I see on my computer is what I can get on a printed image.

Thanks romanticf for the search suggestion..I plan on doing that. All my "keepers" are home printed and "wysiwyg" is my goal in this effort.

I did dye transfers and cibachromes, and had a Besseler 5x7 enlarger with a Dichroic head in the 60s and early 70s, but mostly worked in black and white. Even then, an 8x10 dye transfer would cost about $2-$3 in materials and had very little wiggle room to get it right - so there was a lot of waste.
