Welcome to Day 79 :) With all the new people that have joined us recently .. I thought we would take a personal day of sorts. We all come from different backgrounds,
live in different parts of the world, but there is one thing we all have in common. Photography. I have the camera with me everywhere. Some days I will go to a specific
place to take photos, but other days I just ride around and shoot whatever grabs my attention. A lot of times I'll be sitting at a traffic light and grab the camera
real quick to capture some moment in time. Other times I'll be driving and see something and slam on the brakes, get out and get the photo. Hopefully I'm not the only
person in here that does weird things like that LOL .... So I was wondering ... What Makes You Slam on the Brakes to Get the Photo ? Here are some things that I always
brake for. I look forward to seeing what makes you slam on your brakes :)

Ok...here are some things that make me slam on the brakes, turn off the engine get out of the car and take a photo. I always have a camera with me. It might only be a point and shoot camera sometimes, but it is better than no camera. Besides, a multitude of sins can be covered up with Photoshop!

Just like Photogirl 57's piggy sign, my first photo really captured my interest and the lavender blooms of the Jacaranda Trees in our area, to the magnificent Victorian archecture, these are some of the things that always make me stop...

I always have one or two cameras with me for exactly this reason, something worth stopping for. However I have a problem with this. I knew of an abandoned farm in the next town and recently I drove by and stopped to take a few photos however this stop opened the door to a project and now I have nearly 200 photos of this place and shall be using them for a calendar contest and also for a You Tube. In fact two You Tubes, one in B&W the other in colour. If it was just this one, it would have been fine, but I have also been collecting pics of old barns, sugar houses, life along and on the St. Lawrence River and also sunsets.

The sunsets came from a fellow whom I have met several times and lives in what is called the Lower St.Lawrence and he would go out at different points and places and do sunsets in surrounding towns and villages. Then he made a CD of these and named it Soleil du Jour which became his trademark and also the name of his store where he sold prints. Did he make money? Guess so because some years later he sold everything, he and his wife put on their pack sacks and headed for Europe bumming around doing photography during at least two years. Now, I have nothing for sale but this fellow has been an inspiration for me and I have hundreds of sunsets, and sunrises now.

Another bad habit I have acquired by bringing my own packsack is that now instead of taking driveby pics, I drveby to take pics, in other words I hunt. This makes the local gas station owner very pleased and to show his pleasure he gave me a card and after ever five coffees he gives me a free one. What a nice guy LOL.

Happy clicking

My pullovers always seem to be for critters and landscape shots.
