D7100 - how do I STOP it from bracketing?

I have the manual in front of me and also the online manual but the camera seems to be bracketing my shots and I can't figure out how to stop it. At least I think that's what's going on. Can anyone help please? Just got this camera and in the middle of big learning curve from my D5100.

Thanks, Donna

Did you do a manual reset? Press the buttons next to the green dots, top right and rear.

Take a look here. Excellent investment.

Thanks, Jerry. Just found that myself and fixed. Thanks much for the link, too.

Are you sure you are not just on continuous shooting? The top left dial, is it on S, CL, or CH?

Are you photos all the same exposure it is taking, or are there different exposures in the set?

The custom Settings Menu has your Bracketing settings to select the type of bracketing. Exposure is the only type needed anymore. But to turn it on or off, use the BKT button on the left side near the flash button.

This is how it is on my backup camera, D7000. Should be similar on yours.

That didn't work for me, Capture. What worked was what I figured out for myself just before Jerry shared the solution. The exposures I was getting were totally different for the same shot. All fixed now. Going out to local park to give it a good try. Thanks for jumping in.

OK, what didn't work? Are you saying the Bracketing settings don't work on the camera?

On my D7200, you hit the bracketing button and set the number of bracket shots to zero to turn it off. I'll bet your D7100 is similar. Otherwise, it does the number of shots you have it set to bracket.

It was bracketing withOUT my wanting it to. I reset all the settings and it's fine now. I've never used bracketing and doubt I will and now it's on the outside of the camera where I can turn it on without meaning to. Ugh.

Also really don't like where the review and magnify buttons are - COMPLETELY opposite the D5100 and counter-intuitive to the way I hold my Hoodman against the screen to review my images - but I guess I'll have to get used to them.

Just came back from my first photo outing and about to review my first images with it. Wooooohoooooo!

No, I had apparently turned the bracketing on my mistake and couldn't figure out how to turn it OFF. I reset the custom settings and that did it. Thanks.

You should now learn how to turn bracketing on and off. Resetting all of the custom settings is fine when the camera is new. You don't want to be doing that after you have set a bunch of preferences. Its a pain to have to go and reset them all.

yes but this is not the way to turn off bracketing, use your BKT button and spin the primary control to "OF".

You can U1 and U2 for setting you use occasionally - very handy. See Page 55 in your manual.

I did see that, Jerry, and plan to use it once I decide what settings I use most often so I can switch back and forth quickly if need be. Thanks!

Thanks, Capture48. I knew that resetting everything was NOT the right answer but it was an answer that helped when I was feeling very frustrated. Appreciate your help!
