Not exactly. The story of Lilith shows that she is created as Adam's equal. Eve, then is created to "serve and obey", so not exactly his equal. Lilith's whole story really seems to smack of elements of Taming of the Shrew. Doesn't Katherina seem to be the Lilith at the beginning of the play and Eve by the end of it?

I was referring to EVE not LILITH but caught that I had mix the names in my first report, but soon corrected them, while the Edit button was still "alive."

Yes, Lilith not Eve was Adams equal. It was Eve that I argued could very well be the first ever transgender.

h0ndo,

Women feed babies from their nipples. What purpose do they serve for men?

Nipples are also erogenous zones on male and female bodies.

The largest organ of the body is the skin. Most of it is considered erogenous because of the nerves. The nipples are merely obvious targets for attention. There really is no need for men to have nipples, because we do not feed babies.

If man is made in god's likeness/image. Does s/he have nipples or a navel? appendix? earlobes/no earlobes.

Is god a lefty? Blonde? Redhead? balding? hammer toes? Speak with a lisp?

I think a god is whatever you want it to be.

Can't sleep either?

Nipples were originally male adornments. The were given, by God, to the first transgender, Eve.

My god is the Great Earth Mother, she is not any a deity as such.
She doesn't need lauding and prayer, she only asks for respect to reward us, keep disrespecting her and she will punish you. Of course She doesn't exist either, but it is a far more credible way to conduct our lives.

Does that mean that we are all descended from a Gay couple?

Your statement is quite profound. That would mean that Christians are descendents of that original "gay" couple.

Nipples are really an evolution thing. Men and women also share some of the same hormones, but their levels differently significantly. Men can also get breast cancer.

It's all about evolution from a common ancestor. Some adornments just remain, and who is to say that they are not necessary?

For some it seems, supernatural deities are needed for guidance, but for others, they are not required to find a decent/"credible" way to conduct their lives.

Belief in supernatural deities, for most, really boils down to a belief that the human "soul" (whatever that may be) is going to a higher place after the body dies, but others do not dwell on that concept too much as there is no enticing rational evidence to support it.

That was 'tongue in cheek' James, of course I am not selfish or silly enough to believe in my eternal soul, it does exist, but will die with my body.

Shag,

I think it was in the 70's that I first heard people saying, "God is Love!" I thought that was a beautiful thought. But today, some people spout such hateful ideas and say it is their interpretation of god's message. That is not beautiful.

The idea of souls dying is an interesting idea.

The concept was wonderful, but yes there is a lot of hatred spouted. We can't knock the commandments, a fine set of decency, friendship and morality. A soul to me, is My attitude, My behaviour, tolerance, love, kindness and indeed hatred and anger. It is supported by my body, they are symbiotic, so it dies when I do, that is what I was trying to say.
