I really dislike the button layout on both and the D750 is similar.

I've had that layout on the D7000, D600, D7100, D610, and now D750, so I'm used to it. Those cameras all used the same type of battery, too - a big selling point. I have two Sony compacts, and they have similar Menu systems and buttons. Gotta keep life simple. :D

Exactly!

I have quite a collection of batteries!
My Fuji S5, which is a Nikon D200 with a Fuji sensor, won't take Nikon batteries.
It uses modified Fuji batteries that look identical to the ENEL-3 for D200, 300 and 700.
Not to mention all the batteries for our 10 loaner Canon Rebel kits.

I'm working on organizing all the batteries and chargers into a filing cabinet drawer.

I don't know. I don't have a clue. I purchased the D750 based partly on his article comparing the D750 to the D810.
Looking back, I probably should have upgraded to the D7100 or the D7200 rather than the D740.
I could not reply earlier because I could not figure out why

I no longer had access to the REPLY or REPLY QUOTE boxes at the end of each thread. If I log in at the beginning of each UHH session, then the REPLY boxes come into view. In the past I never had to log in with each UHH session. But I am not the sharpest knife in the draw when it comes to computers. -FiddleMaker

I sometimes have to sign in again, for some reason.
