Is there a backpack or does anyone know of one for camera equipment. I would like to get something like this http://www.chairpak.com/home.html with a photographer in mind. As a last resort I could purchase this one and modify it. I do a lot of outdoor photography of mostly animals for research projects and find myself sitting and waiting for hours on end sometimes.

Interesting concept. They have none in stock though in any color.

Clever idea, depending on where a hiker would be stopping.

Great idea, but since my Sherpa carry my recliner I don't need it.

Here's another type of product that has minimal bulk and weight, yet it is capable of taking some of the pain out of "sitting and waiting for hours on end." http://www.nadachair.com

Dave, when I'm gonna go hiking and carry my minimal blind with me, I carry one of those little foldout tree legged stools. They are about the same size as a smal folded tripod and weigh about or less than a pound. They are clearly not a chair but I've sat on one for hours before. It straps to my photo pack just like a tripod. Good luck. ;-)

I have that set up currently, I am looking for a better setup. I have been out in the boonies for days. That folding chair just doesn't cut it

Agree with SS. I have back and leg problems. Bought a three legged stool with a back from Bass Pro several years ago. It works great, is light, and not that expensive.

You could probably buy or make foam padding to protect your camera gear to fit inside.

I use a walk stool - it is a three legged stool - very well built and pretty light weight. I use the 22in one (I'm 5' 11"). Made in Sweden.

Available direct, Amazon, and B&H.

That is a cute backpack chair idea, but it's 230lb. limit doesn't suit me. As a motorcyclist, many of my friends would use this chair:

http://www.kermitchair.com

It packs small and has a 350lb limit. There are also extensions if you want to sit taller. It is NOT cheap. I won mine in a raffle.
