I was just looking through the gallery. Someone asked for advice on a portrait. Well someone said to use PP to reduce the number of catch lights in the eyes. Several people agreed that PP should be used. I read each reply carefully to see if I could get some hint as to what PP was. I got nothin :(

PP is post processing. Using a program like lightroom, Photoshop , Photoshop elements, Picassa or the like. The programs enhance the photo's qualities.

PP is more polite than Pee Pee. Just kidding it means Post Processing.Using a program ( like pohotshop or lightroom etc) to adjust the photo after it is taken. Sorta like a dark room in the film days

Thanks must be to early.. Post Processing never entered my mind. Another cup of coffee and I will be fine :)
My head was focused on image capture.

I was amazed to see that there is now a Portrait Pro. That must have ruffled some feathers at Portrait Professional.

PP is the opposite of #2!! Just kidding(but really, it is!)
Frankie, I'm sure PP has entered your mind! It had just exited your mind at the most un-opportune time.
It's a b*tch getting old, isn't it!!

Photographers these days are using more and more odd ball abbreviations and acronyms. Seems nearly as many as I use in Biology and Chemistry! And we can't understand one another much better in those fields when we are out of our specific tiny niche, say Ecology vs. Molecular Genetics.
In fact I've noticed the same one you did. I knew PP to mean Post Processing, but it also can be short for a piece of software, Portrait Professional. Poor or Good choice of a product name. For me
PP means (in the wider sense)
Photoshop (Ps CS6), all I really need.

It's our Digital Darkroom today. you just don't need a small dark place with a secure door and a red light. You can do it anywhere any time even at the kitchen table with that cup of coffee.
It's the age thing again, if I remember right.
