Are there any of you experenced Lightroom people that can give me a helping hand. I bought 70 presets from Anthony Morganit. I just can't get them installed. I talked with him on the phone, and got my Ass chewed out. He is too busy to help customers /http://www.anthonymorganti.com/lightroom-presets-anthony-morganti

For a Mac, typically you would download them, unzip them if necessary , and save somewhere you can easily find them. Then in LR menu go to Preferences, select Presets tab, click on the button "Show Lightroom Presets Folder". In this Finder window locate and open the Lightroom folder and then open the "Develop Presets" Folder. Copy and paste the presets folder into this location.

For Windows, there's a similar process. You can probably use google to find out how to do it,

I'm curious as to why you got such an unpleasant reaction when you called him. Every vendor I've ever bought presets from has the instructions included with the download.

Good luck.

P.S. You may need to restart Lightroom after the steps outlined above in order to complete the installation process.

Why take that kind of abuse? I would return them and post something negative but true and polite.

PS While convenient, I think presets merely decrease your desire to learn LR. As you learn LR, you may create your own presets for those actions you actually use.

Hi abc1234. I'm starting to feel the same way. He did refund my money. "if your going to be in business, be ready to help the customer"

In my business, we say that the customer is not always right but he is always the customer. Good for you to ask for your money back. Many customers will simply eat it out of embarrassment.

There's no excuse for being so rude to a customer but did you follow the step by step video he has on his site? It is very clear how to do it.

Spend $10 on Tony Northrup's new Lightroom 5 Kindle book. It has over 12 hours of video tutorials linked to it and he shows you exactly what to do to install plugins in great detail. I'm amazed at how much I've learned from this book and I've been a LR user for about 2 years. A Google search would probably yield a way to do it too. Hope this helps...

I don't have a solution, so I will be watching this post with interest to hear the solution.
I have listened to Anthony Morganti's tutorials and enjoyed them, I'm very sorry to hear that you had a terrible experience. Gives me pause going forward about buying from him.

Am I posting this on the wrong page?

Let's start at the beginning -
Assumption:
You downloaded zip files to a folder on your system.
You extracted the files to another folder on your system.

You created a new preset topic in LR by:
Having LR open -
Having a photo open in the Develop Module
Expanded the Presets to show all of the installed presets
Right Clicked on one of the installed presets and selected "New Folder"
Named the new folder to a name of your choosing
Right clicked on the new folder you just created and named and selected "Import" - then you located the file you extracted from the zip file and selected it.

What error are you getting when you do these steps?

On my Windows 7 computer, these are the steps I take. You have to make sure that the presets are for LR 5 as some of the earlier presets will not work with LR 5.
1. Open 2 Windows expleorer windows
2. Open the file with the presets in 1 window
3, Open the AppData file in the other window
4. Open the Roaming file
5. Open the Adobe file
6. Find Lightroom in the Adobe file and open it
7. Go to the Develop Module for normal presets, Local adjustment preset file for brushes or print templates file for print templates, depending on what you are installing.
8. Create a new file
9. Copy the presets into the new folder.
10. Restart Lightroom and you should see the presets.
