Took this photo Monday night. Put camera on manual focus to capture the rainbow moon rings from the high clouds passing by. The blue orb did not appear in the view finder but showed up on the image. No photo shop or other image work done. Thoughts ideas how or what this is?

I could understand if it appeared in the VF but not in the photo, but the other way around is strange. Since it didn't appear in your camera's mirror, the only logical choice is that it's a vampire planet.

Bears a resemblance to a curious blue orb.

do you have a filter on your lens? clear glass? I would imagine how bright the moon has been, that it is reflecting on the extra piece of glass!! e.g. sun spot {moon spot}!!
Under low light conditions such as this, pick one: dust, bugs, moisture, pixel problem (didn't fill) or the last choice, ghost/spirit. Nice blue color. My guess is pixel. I get these sent to me on a regular basis, one of my hobbies is paranormal investigations. The orbs don't always appear in the VF if it's pixel. (just for the record at least 97% of all orbs are NOT ghosts/spirits).

The 'blue orb' looks like someone threw a ball up into your picture.
Planet X...................there is no escape!!!!
Good, old fashion lens flare, maybe? The sensor might have picked up something blue in the flare and gave you a little conspiracy ammo. LOL.

I knew there was one I forgot to add.
Were you shooting through a window?

My guess is lens flare.
But if you deleted a picture it could be a capture of the green cloud emitted.
Or fart dust...
What time did you take the picture ?
