What would be the best all around camera? I use many various lenses up to and including the Tamron 150-600. I think that price wise they are very close. Thanks in advance!

I have a 6D and love it. Price and size were considerations for me. I would purchase this camera again. I use a 50 mm, 24-105mm, 70-200mm, and a 14-70mm.

Between the two mentioned cameras, I would go with the 6D. Better low light performance, newer technology, many other extras.

That being said, the 5D MK II has a bit better build quality and a few professional features not on the 6D.

If you are going to do a lot of video work, the 5D MK II, would be a better choice.

Image wise the 6D wins.

Ok thanks to you all, I guess the 6d wins out. Now to shop.

I'd probably go with the 6D IF I WERE NOT going to shoot Video.

Video on the 6D is the deal breaker if video is important. And because the reports of "Moire Patterns" in the video are harsh enough and are enough on record that I would pass on the 6D.

Reason.... even if I were not interested in the video, the known issue of poor video performance would be an issue on resale. Resale is a big factor for me.

The 5D MkII has been ranked as better on video than both the MK III and the 6D.

Now, if one were only going to use the still image function and did NOT CARE about resale, then the 6D might make sense... but don't pay full price!

NOW, here is a link that takes you to a company that is offering a newly designed AA filter for the 6D that is suppose to deal with the moire problem in video issues. However, it looks like this would be an extra expense issue. May want to check these people out if video is important to you.

I can't speak to the 5DII, and what you want to shoot wilmake a difference, the 6D is quite a machine. Excellent low light/high iso image quality. Color rendition is outstanding. I don't shoot video, do that's not an issue for me. Overall, it's an awesome camera. I hope that this helps.

No doubt, the 6D is an outstanding piece of equipment, but have you checked into the Nikon D750?

Donkas, if you are talking $1800 for a new 6d or $1200 or less for a 5ll, save your money and get the 5ll.
My personal opinion is that the 6d does NOT bring enough more to the table that actually has to do with shooting pictures. The 6D is a stripped down 5ll photographically with more high tech where it's not as important as its a notch down on the hierarchy scale. You can compensate with the 5ll for anything the 6 might do better. Unless the 6 has something you can't live without, get the 5dll and a couple of lenses. At least that's my thoughts. ;-)
