This was in SLR Lounge. I hope everyone can get it by clicking on (Read more here) at the bottom of the page....Rich.................Why would you want to use the Canon 7D Mark II for weddings and portraits? In short, not so much for its blazing 10 FPS, but more for its affordable professional all-around ruggedness and quality.

Read more here.-----Sorry it's not working. ...Rich

Big, there is an ancient school of thought, probably propagated by all the old guys that used to shoot with big wooden view cameras about just how many shots really need to be taken.
Sure, even a not so good photographer can shoot 10 shots at a wedding and the bride will be happy with them.
There is a myth that if you can anticipate well enough your shots will all be perfect.
If Murphy struck hard enough, it's possible to get ten group shots and someone would have their eyes closed in each one of them, no matter how many toothpicks you used to pry their eyelids open!
In today's real world NOBODY uses a crappy old Hassy film camera. So you can actually shot faster than 1 frame every 10 seconds!
It's easy to think that if you're frikken good enough, every shot is a great shot. But I'll bet my last dollar that in each of those shots, if given a choice, the bride would actually prefer a shot taken 1/10 of a second before or after the only shot taken.
Shooting a few fast shots will always give you more opportunities for a slightly better shot.
The 7ll will also not only lock focus extremely fast and accurately but it will do that at -3ev, that is in lower light than any other camera on the planet except the 6d which is the same.
And MANY photographers today are also providing video clips as well. The 7ll allows you to do that with special STM lenses and will do it with slow-transition Auto Focus. Again no other dslr will allow you to do that.
So why wouldn't someone shoot a wedding with a 7ll?
Some photographers will jump all over any new technological advantages they can get. Others will be forever stuck in the slow lane!
The guard if always chanching.
Big, sorry, but I didn't look at the link! ;-)

This was more then about shooting just weddings. It was a pretty complete review on all type of shooting including landscapes, wildlife, action and just how good of an all around camera the 7D Mark II really is. It was quite a good article and very well explained. I just wish I could have sent it. It would help a lot of people make a decision about the camera if they weren't sure about it.....Rich
