What is wrong with cameras these days?

OK, I taught a small lighting class last night for a small club. Our model (kid from one of those modeling schools) failed to show up. I actually stepped in and posed as the model for the hands on portion.

When looking at all the portraits, I realized that there is something seriously wrong with digital cameras these days. When my photo was taken with film, I looked much younger, less fat, and had hair. Something in these sensors make me look terrible!

I always keep the picture of the beautiful family in place in the new wallet when I buy one. They look much better, happier and less dysfunctional than my clan... Maybe there's a scene mode like that in the new cameras...

I have the same trouble with mirrors. Maybe there's something wrong with how they make glass.

My wife wants a nice framed picture of us also. But whenever I go to Walmart, Kmart, or Target, I tell her I can never find a picture of us in all those frames they have for for sale!

As we get older, our "sensor" goes from P&S, to micro 4/3, to APS-C, Full Frame, etc. If we keep adding Pizza Pixels, some of us wind up as medium and even large format

Lol... I think it's called aging. Some do it gracefully and some don't.

I have trouble with selfies because the camera thinks I'm always out of focus.

You don't say anything about the lighting. Formal correctly lit with professional lights or relying on indoor lights - i.e white balance off.

Camera manufacturers should get wise and instead of useless scene settings such as Snow and Fireworks, they should have a Seventeen setting.
The one that makes anyone look like they are 17 again.

Here in the east and especially in the south, women tend to spread so i offer an option to people wanting me to shoot wedding vow renewalls.
I just turn off the proportion lock and add a bit of height.
Sells a lot of pictures.
