Thinking about getting a Nikon D3x I don't need this, built in 2009 the firmware is old by today's standards and the ISO only goes to 1600. Now I own a D800 and a D2x but the body is like my D2x which is so pro like and full frame.....joy :)
Please yourself. Bet you can get a good price!
I have a Nikon D3 and the D810 - I love them both.
Have you thought about the D3s? I think it's better rated than the D3x
Knock yourself out Greg. Remember, life is to short to suffer GAS. ;)
D3s is faster and higher ISO but less Mp D3x I think better for landscapes.

Get yourself a D800 if landscape photography is in your agenda.
I have a D800 but the body with the grip is NOT pro like

The D3 and D3s is built for speed, mainly sports. Shooting these cameras for anything else is almost a sacrilege.
I've used the D3 and D3s for photography from wildlife to landscape to sports and it's never let me down. They are
built like tanks and perform in sun, rain and snow. If I didn't already own the D3 and needed to buy another "like" camera, I'd buy the D3s (which I've rented several times).
You can't go wrong with this camera.
I would go also with the D3s Great Camera
The only thing are the pixels between the two cameras I would think 24 is better than 12,what say you?

It's not all about megapixel. The D4s is 16 megapixel and it's Nikon's flagship. Autofocus and performance makes this pro body a winner.

I am not a Nikon shooter, so excuse me for asking. What do you mean by "not pro like"? The D800 is most certainly a pro level camera, with grip or without. Who are you trying to impress? It is after all the photos that separate the pros from amateures, not the gear.
