As a former retail outfitter in both outdoor gear and photo equipment I understand it from both sides.

As my manager in the outdoor store said, "We don't sell anything people need. Our job is to nurture wants into needs."

My executor is going to be busy between photo, hunting, fishing and camping gear.

The only thing that helps a little is to walk into B&H and say, "I'll take one each of everything. Better make that two so that I have a backup ".

All that means is you will have more money to but new stuff, Means nothing. A true sufferer of GAS always, repeat, always wants more gear.

I just called Arlington Camera and the sale is on now. I have two waiting for me....the 24-70 f2.8 and the 70-200 f2.8 VRII. I've been saving for this sale. Now I've gotta start saving for next year!!!
