PSE 10-Blown out whites-ZEBRAs?

Hi,

I'm running some ETTR tests and I want to know when the RAW whites are blown out.

I have PSE 10 and I don't see any zebras (or red, etc) for the blown out whites. I do see blue for the blown blacks.

Is there a way to turn on an option to show blown whites in PSE 10?

My Canon T3 shows blown whites, but I understand that is only for the JPG, not the RAW.

Thanks,

Alan

Does it have a histogran like Lightroom?
If so, it might have little carrots in both upper corners of the histogram that you have to click?? Kelby calls those the triangles of DEATH!!

Yes, in the ACR module!

It does have the carrots and they work rather nicely. Click on, click off. One for blown blacks, one for blown whites.

I'm curious. Why does Kelby call them triangles of DEATH?

Thank you,

Alan

Allen, LOLOL!!
When I can help someone with a PP question, I should go buy lottery tickets because I am absolutely retarded at PP!!
Allen, Kelby uses them to control his black and white conversions. He KILLS the mid-tones with them. crank one till it's all red, then back so the red is minimal. then the same with the blue. It's a way KILL the muddy midtones of bad B&W and create maximum contrast which is what B&W is ALL about! Try it on your next B&W's. ;-)

I suppose that his method for B&W would be helpful for color as well . . . ?

Alan

P.S. Goodluck with that lotto ticket :)

Also, if you hold the ALT key down while making white/black adjustments in ACR module, it will show the blown out areas.
