Many of the transplanted wolves weigh well over 150#.
Keep in mind that they are apex predators.

So maybe their is a reason for..(what we found to be a female) this Canadian Wolf to have traveled here to NH ; we need some additional wildlife management ;)

I saw this guy on my ride home from the vets zig zagging along the highway in NH and off into the tree line. I posted the photos to a dog recovery site. They got back to me saying a coyote expert looked at the photo & said he was a wolf.

I included a photo from the internet of a Black Canadian Timber Wolf whom looks almost identical

Beautiful animals.

Everyone can have their own oppinions James - did you see the photo I included on the Black Canadian Timber Wolf- the dog that you see , she weighs 125 lbs plus, female, winter coat, never warn a collar, tracks like a coyote & very well feed. It's hard to show the size and she also has a mane under and around her chin. Regardless I think she can take care of herself :D

To me, the tip of his nose doesn't seem to have the upturn found in most wolves. Maybe he's part wolf.

Looking at the pic it sure looks like a coyote. I don't think its a wolf as I don't think you would have gotten that close. I will send you a couple of pics a little later on.

Definitely NOT a coyote - too big. As well fed as this animal appears, it may be using the dump, and has acclimated to human intruders; shot #1 is very indicative of wolf caution. And remember, all dogs are part wolf !

Pretty neat (love that word) shot indeed. For what it's worth, on Netflix there is a movie intitled; The "Coywolf". Look it up...very interesting. I have spent a lot of my life in Canada in the backwoods, and in by the broad face...stubby ears, I'd say it is a wolf. Anyway...Nice capture indeed. Thanks, Boone.

Hi Jake - The "coyote" expert (whom was shown the photo) said DNA of a dog but 100 percent wolf.. Here in NH we are not supposed to have wolfs so says NH Fish & Game -but I have seen 3 over the years that look like what we all depict as a wolf. My boyfriend took the later photos I put up of what I think is a wolf ..walking past our house. People disclaim the photo because they say a "wolf " wouldn't be walking down a road ..so its not . Ahh the way people think is confusing ;)

Thanks for looking Boone and your comments ; she is much bigger then depicted in this photo - I wanted to get out of the car and take more photos but my dog was trying to get out of the car too. I have seen some coy's and my boyfriend has some furs of them. I really don't think she is an old animal, I believe the white around her mouth is just markings. Regardless of what she is, it was great to see such a strong and healthy & wild
animal
