I read the article from your link and did some additional search. It looks like there are claims and counter-claims and it is hard to know where the truth lies, Certainly there has been no confirmation from the Pentagon that the jamming occurred. I Goggled the "Khibiny" system mentioned in the article, and it is a Russian jamming system, but I am sure that we have counter-"Khibiny" systems. In this electronic world we keep out-maneuvering one another, so anyone can be on top at a given time.

As for the twenty-seven crew members "resignation", if it is true it would probably translate into removing them for the type of negligence on the recent wall-jumping incidents at home.

Hold on now. Let's think before making unfair comparisons. I've never known a mean snake. :D

As a former Navy veteran, I find this report highly suspect, this most likely propaganda. I don't know about now but when
I was on, we looked forward to encounters such as this, mind you I served during the cold War when this sort of thing was expected.i have searched the Internet and have found no other reference to this incident. Just because it's on the Internet doesn't make it true. :hunf:

I must reply to this posting of harassment by Russia. Is this a call to war? I certainly hope not and I want to take a moment to refresh some foggy memories that the Israeli air force murdered 34 of our American servicemen for no apparent reason yet not one thing was done to Israel in response to this act of war! No, we just continue to fund them with billions of our dollars to feed their arsenal of weapons of mass destruction! There is much talk now about how evil Russia and Putin are but not one word about the Israeli war machine!

The electronic systems mentioned do not run on one circuit. They all have different protocols and circuits to control them. I suppose it is possible that a single blast could shut them down but it seems highly improbable. A directed EMF pulse would do the job but the ship would need to be towed home. It would not sail away after the attacker left the area. What would be the point, in a war, to shut down the ship temporarily?

As the attached story points this is BS! It is a russian claim and has no substantive proof

I imagine that the two sites that ran this story will be getting lots of traffic. maybe that's their main purpose in writing it.

Obviously an EMP. This is the greatest threat to the U.S. mainland now.

The story is utter rubbish. Such a disablement would constitute being an unprovoked act of aggression threatening the welfare of the ship and its crew by a foreign power on the high seas and would surely be promptly dealt with by force of fire.
