Since receiving my new Canon EOS 7D Mark II, I've been looking for a better manual than the one inside the cameras package. I usually buy a book by Wiley Publishing, in the "Field Guide" format. I've looked on Amazon, and several other sites, but found nothing. It just be just to soon for them to respond to the demand.

Thanks everyone for the information, and suggestions. I'm looking for a printed manual for the 7D Mark II. I guess I'll have to wait until the publishing houses catch up. Adobe is in the same position with the RAW converter.

This 7dll camera is not a 3ti. I have never used a field guide but is it possible that as a camera gets more into the professional realm, that field guides are just not printed for lack of demand? Do they make one for the 1dx? Just thinking out loud! ;-)

They did one for the 5DIII. Not sure what geometry they use to determine which model gets a field guide.

Today, I called Wiley Publishing, those people print the "Digital Field Guide" series of books, and "Dummies" books. I've got the "Digital Field Guides" for 6D, 7D, and 50D. But, they don't have one available for the 7D Mark II yet. There are several you can pre-order, but will not be available for a few months or after the first of the year. The manual, from Canon, which is on the disk provided with the Camera is over 500 pages. I looked into printing it at a local printer, and the cost is over $300.00 in B/W. The small manual that comes with the camera is marked "basic", and it is really basic for such a complex camera. After downloading, and reading just the focusing section of the full manual, I can quote James Bond, "That's one hell of a box Brownie."

Bill, if you go to manualslink.com you can order the manual for the MkII. They advertise it. I had them print a manual for me that was a 420 page owner's manual, it cost about $40.00. They are thorough and fast in shipping. I have used them for cameras, lenses, and speedlights. Good stuff.

I'm on the pre-order list for the David Busch Field Guide from Amazon. In the meantime I've used the Canon 7D Mark II Experience book by Douglas Klosterman. I've found the Canon manual that came with this camera particularly badly written relative to my other Canon camera manuals. So went searching for a better alternative. In the next month or so (e.g., March 2015) John Greengo may be releasing a video tutorial to the camera via CreativeLive also.

There are few videos on youtube that offer some clues until whatever book shows up.
