Non-Canon repair facilities.

I have a Canon T4i which has a problem with consistent exposure. I usually have to set between -2/3 and -1 1/3 exposure compensation to get exposure equivalent to those I get with my other Canon bodies using the same lens. (They all look fine.) I have been doing the tests in M(anual) mode although the problem manifests in Av, Tv and P modes as well. The only real problem that this issue causes is that I lose underexposure range for doing HDR sets.

I have already sent this body to the Canon repair facilities in New Jersey and Virginia and both times it came back still having the issue. I've sent other equipment back to the NJ facility for repair and it all came back repaired, but not this puppy.

Can anyone recommend a repair facility not owned by Canon or any suggestions for getting it actually repaired by Canon? (And not the 'park and return' it seems to have gotten the other two times?)

I have had excellent results from an outfit in Arizona called C.R.I.S. You'll have to Google them. They have done three repairs for me and they were all good.

I have also had a good result from an independent repair person who is on the Hedgehog. I'd have to go back and look him up, but probably someone else here will know who he is. He did a minor repair for me, but it was done quickly, reasonably priced and professionally. I would use him again in a heartbeat.

Yes. Rick is the one I was trying to remember. He did a good job for me, repairing my D-90 and was very reasonably priced. I really appreciated his service and highly recommend him.

I also can highly recommend C.R.I.S. in Arizona. They did a great job in repairing a camera and two lenses for me.

Midwest is in Wyandotte, MI and is factory authorized service for most major brands of cameras.

You didn't mention if your other Canon bodies were newer, or more expensive models using different sensors and/or different versions of software? It might be unrealistic for a consumer model to be compared to a pro body, especially if one is newer than the other? Also, the variation in exposure compensation may be within the tolerances for that camera?
