I pointed out to the guy that the Nash was an old Woody. I told him when I was a kid we had a woody Chevy wagon. He then asked "What's a Woody". I just left that one alone.

I will go on record to say the newer autos have far more comforts and conveniences. Yes they are faster, last longer and are generally cheaper (by the standard of the time period) to operate and maintain.
However,I say the older autos had far more character in them. At least I could tell them apart.

I totally agree with your comment that the old autos and trucks had more character...and yes, very difficult to tell the autos apart these days.

Once again,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,this post begs the question!!!! How much were you making per week when you could buy these things at that price??????????

I'm sorry, but i just can't understand why some people just absolutely fail to see that everything is relative!

There are some wonderful vehicles in your photos. It's nice to see that other people appreciate the sweeping lines of an old machine. Some automotive eras were more about "the show than the amount of go" an auto could provide......8)

Anyone who was raised on the West coast knew what a woody was!

When I was 16 my dad gave me his old 1936 plymonth. He had put 100,000 miles on it. I sold it to a friend for $100. When I bought a new 1950 ford V8. He took it off to collage and put another 100,000 miles on it and it was still running when he got rid of it. Go figger.

What comes to my mind is a bunch of old trucks (males) standing around looking at that cute little car (female) going by.

These old trucks are sitting on a lot in the little town of Sprague, WA. If only they could tell there stories...

Great shots. Great memory joggers. May I assume by your user name that you live on Barker Road in Greenacres? I am a transplant from Spokane Valley.
