I don't know, but ¼-20 machine bolts might be in order when the wind comes whipping down the prairie and rips that phone free of the velcro.

I probably should have specified Industrial Strength Velcro !

...and I haven't had a "hook'n'loop" failure in the 5 years it has been in use!

Interesting, but love the title for a new forum name more.

Not only is the stabilizer utilitarian, it is a work of beauty. The photos fantastic indeed, another nail in the coffin of the bulky DSLRs.

To add to the stability of my small super zoom 24/7 camera I embedded a 1/4 20 brass bolt into a tennis ball which was filled with freshly mixed plaster of Paris. One set up, the ball was easily gripped.

I really like this sort of innovation. It says something good about the inventor. Please keep it up.

Thanks, dp!
For images for possible prints, it's still the DSLR for me, but as each step-up smartphone has a better camera, I find myself happier and happier with the grab shots I get with it. My newest phone is a Galaxy Note III that delivers some pretty astounding images!

Thank you, Mercer,
But I can't claim the innovation.I saw someone using something like it and figured it wouldn't be too hard to jerry rig...and it wasn't!

Dave, that thing is WAY more sophisticated than the one I made for my multi-thousand dollar lens!
I especially like the Baltic/apple ply. Very classy touch.
I'll post you mine tonite when I get home. ;-)

Hey, SS,
Yeah...I guess it is kinda classy choice of wood...had it been a choice. However, for DIY stuff I pretty much rummage in the scrap wood bin for the smallest pieces of anything that'll do the job! A few days before slapping together the phone stabilizer I had built a few table saw jigs out of Baltic, so there they were!

Took class t'notice that!

Dave, took no class at all, I just happened to own a wood products company for 20 years! I know more about wood than photography.
Hey, sorry, can't post my handle, my computer won't allow me to log onto the Hog. But I've got another one coming next week!!
