Just shot a wedding with the em1. Performed great. Basically used the 12-40 and 75...that's a great two lens kit.

When I bought the E-M1, the staff in the store asked me what lens I wanted to buy with it, and they were a bit surprised when I told them "None!"
Instead, I got the adapter to use the 4/3 lenses. The two I worked with in those early weeks, were the 14-54mm and the 50-200mm. Both work just fine, and all the features are still there. Because I still use the E-5 as well (mostly for tripod work, 'cause it's a heavy beast), twice now, I had the 14-54 lens on the E-5 when I also wanted it on the E-M1.
So my first purchase after the camera was the 12-40mm M4/3 lens.
I've also checked out the flash I use with the E-5, FL-50R and as a remote flash, it works great.
After I get the 40-150mm lens in November, next on my wish-list is the M 4/3, 1.4 teleconverter. That will give me a reach of 210mm - should be enough for now ;-)

A couple of months ago, I bought David Busch's book for the E-M1 - Excellent book, but dry reading. So I tend to use it as a reference book.
Just yesterday, someone here on the Hog recommended Gary Friedman's book for this camera, it's only $20 and is easy to read:
http://www.friedmanarchives.com/OlympusE-M1/index.htm
It comes with a separate "booklet" for the version 2.0 firmware update.
Also, it being downloaded as a pdf file, and epub file AND a mobi file, you can read it wherever you want, or even print it out!
Thank you, to whoever made that recommendation!

Thanks for your observations. Reading between the lines I think I detect that you would rather go with m4/3 lenses on the E-M1 just as a matter of practicality. I've thought about that as both my Leica 4/3 lenses are BIG when mounted on a m4/3 body. My plan is to stay with m4/3 but get a used E-5 body to get some good use out of those spectacular Leica lenses.

Do you guys uses UV Filters on your Lens

Always...the only time it comes off is if I'm putting on another filter. I also use the lens hood, but the one lens I've seen damaged (dropped on some some rocks) had a hood and no filter...the hood didn't save it, it just broke off, the filter might have.

The EM1 is sturdy enough to handle the old larger lenses. I regularly use the oly 12-60 and the 50-200' also the 9-18 which is pretty small anyway. I've spent my m43 $ on primes. So far I'm pretty content with the combo. The old lenses focus pretty quick and accurately. The 50-200 is my choice for grandsons soccer and birds. I can't bring myself to spend $ for the 12-40 when the old 12-60 performs so well.

75mm is a gem, I also recommend the boem1 camera plate.

I use an fstop shibata messenger bag, and it holds the camera, with the grip and 12-40, and a 75, 25 and 7.5

I also use a Tamarac velocity 6 sling when I want to go light with a 2 lens combo.

Yes, until I have a longer lens for the E-M1, I will be using the 50-200mm with the adapter. It's not so much a matter of practicality, as it is dealing with arthritis: probably faster to list the joints that are not affected than the ones that are. The E-5 has simply become too heavy for me to lug around. The E-5 has been promoted to tripod work, I only take what I absolutely (think) I need in my camera bag - the rest "lives" in a second bag, that I will take along but leave in the car when we walk around somewhere.
