Just found it last night. I wrote to Huffington and am waiting to view their response. They just copied it from the web site as far as I can tell.

You should contact Caters News Agency. That is where Huffington got it. They not only hijacked the picture they also hijacked the blurb written by Cater's blurb writer. But, as I said, Caters could have sold it to them and then Caters should pay you. But Caters will not tell you who they sold it to. If you don't have a contract with Caters, they will be happy to find out that someone is steeling their product.

Here's what I also found out. The two images were on 500px site. That's where I have one of my galleries and that is where they got it from. Huffington Copyright legal staff notified me that they are co-owners of 500px. They have the rights to any images posted with them for editorial usage.
I was not aware that Huffington Post also owns 500px as there is nothing about it on their site. I wonder how many other companies like flicker, smugmug, etc. are also partnered with other larger firms with the same kind of deal?
They are able to get free image usage without notifying any of the owners of their usage. The photo credit they give doesn't show on the image unless you physically mouse over the image. When you upload images to their site, they say not to watermark your image in the gallery. Now I know why. I will include a watermark from now on for any of my images to that gallery.
Another hogger just saw one of mine on the local Amazon website.

When you click on the image to try to copy it, it states you can purchase rights. Not sure what gives.
I am waiting to see what really happened until I actually get upset.
Hey, you got paid along with a lot of free publicity... Hopefully you will continue to get paid... So far so good.

The problem is I didn't get paid, but I did get some exposure. I would like to have been notified by the user that they were going to use it. It is like borrowing your best friend's car without asking. Only they aren't my best friend. lol

What was the scoop on that? Did they at least credit you? Mine at least had a credit, if you happened to mouse over it.

No--no credit. It's always possible that a third party was involved. What I mean to say is that they may have purchased the image from the individual who stole it
There was a guy some time back that stole multiple images from several Hoggers and was advertising them for sale. He was actually a member of UHH-- and then was banned.

You're not reading my replies. Look again at the Huffington Post article. It clearly gives credit to Caters News Agency.

Yikes. I heard about this, but didn't have the specific details.

You are not blind. They have taken down all of the other attached images from the article. Looks like they changed their mind about having them linked.
It was good that I did a screen capture before writing to them. Thank you for following up.

My apologies. I confused you with Swamp Gator, who posted a link to a post from Huffington (I think). Anyway please disregard - I can't even find the link on here any more. Sorry.

Here is some of the screen capture article and images they used.
You have probably seen both of these images from me at some point on this site.
