Don't pay for the registry cleaner. I down loaded the free addition of Wise Registry Cleaner and it worked for me.
Just search for it in google, you only need the free addition and watch each page so they don't down load any thing else.

I was trying to open a photo on my desktop & received this error code message. If I right click & go down to "show how to open this file" a window opens that says "choose how you want to open this file". I can then choose Photo Gallery & it opens up to the chosen photo but this is a round about way to open. I don't want to download one of those programs that states they can get rid of it in 2 minutes unless I know it's a safe site. Anyone else had this problem & how did you deal with it? Thanks for any help/advice.

What kind of file is the photo saved as? That would be the 3 letters after the dot. JPG, TIF, DNG

There shouldn't be error messages, for just the reason you cite. Unless you're a tech, with a manual in front of you, they're meaningless. If a statement tells you nothing, why offer it? If the machine knows it's experiencing Error 12345, then it knows what the problem is, so why not tell us? And offer a solution.

More stupidity.

 At first glance I thought you were referring to MY stupidity. You are right, Jerry. The only ones to benefit from these messages are the ones hoping to make a sale. Same for anti virus programs. Why else would the average pc user get a virus unless someone stands to profit. It's a kind of blackmail. Pay me $$$ & I'll get it off. Don't pay & you will keep having problems.

It's a jpg. I 'm not going to worry about it since I can open by right clicking & choosing open in---- Photo Gallery, Photo Viewer, etc. It just takes a few seconds longer. I saw this same thing happen a few years ago when I had Windows Vista. Thought I had seen the last of that message.
