That is the optimum capacity according to Sandisk.

This is interesting. How can you say how large a file will be, emphasis on the word "will"? Upon what rate you basing your assumption? What method are you using to predict the size of the file?

The numbers don't seem to add up. They have to have a file size to make these computations.

Speak to Sandisk. I presume the figures mean the card will hold x-number of photos at 10 mp's per photo.

Where are you getting the 10?

I presume it was an extrapolation they did from their own charts and data. It could easily be done for a 4 or a 24 or whatever camera you choose.

It seems you are confusing "mega-pixels" with "mega-bytes".

Havent seen anything on the Forum about this. Has anyone heard Sandisk has released a 512 GB card?

Now you too can lose 6 weeks worth of "Once-in-a-lifetime" safari shots in one go.

Approx $800.

Its intended for 4K video but may be over kill for stills.

Knew about...but there's no point of it with my camera. My 32gb Sandisk pro extreme (95mb/sec) works perfectly fine.

Nothing difficult about that, have done that many, many times. Even when I was shooting film (before shooting both), when I had something really interesting to shoot, I did shot a lot of times 20-30 rolls of film in a day (36 exp.). Now, for example, over the fourth of July, I on average take about 6000 pics a day -sometimes more, sometimes less.

Do you have to buy a new shutter mechanism every month?

That's an average of a picture every 14.4 seconds for 24 hours straight... I'm impressed.

Yes. I did see that. Lexar also has one that size. And I also agree with your comment. I've lost two SD cards which cost me shoots for which I had paid location costs and model fees.

I didnt know Lexar also made one. Sorry to hear about your loss of your cards. I havent lost any from paid shoot but have certainly lost some from research trips. It can be very costly and of course some shots can never be re-shot.

You buy two of them and use the second one in the second slot as a backup. :D

Good plan. "IF" you've got an extra $1600 to spare.

Personally I think they meant to say 600 a day. That's a bit more believable.
