One more, a little closer in, with one of our dogs checking out the action....

Added a little more exposure to this one, as eveything I post looks a little darker on here.

Any more requests?

Thank you moonhawk,
not how you'd shoot this lens???
Why the heck not?
For my way of thinking, this is one of the things they were created to do!!!!!!
Expand your repetoire moonhawk, you have the tool, use it!!!
Your first test shot was boring, this has much more life, vitality.

I would use a smaller aperture--more depth of field.

Nice to know you can judge my repertoire based on one shot....

If I could get the colors to display here like they do on my monitor at home you might not find it quite so boring, but whatever. It was a test shot, and the weather wasn't cooperating.

I still like it better than the wide open as close as I could get one, but that's what makes life so great, isn't it? We can all shoot the way we want.

Thanks for looking.

:)

If you would care to think logically instead of just taking offense, you would realise that I didn't judge your repetoire on one shot.
I judged your lack of imagination on your words - "it's not how I would use it."

And, your first test shot was boring, and bland and didn't really show what the lens could do. And no matter what you did with the colours, it still would be. No subject and no composition.
And yes, you are totally entitled to shoot all the shots like that, that you want. Knock yourself right out.

Well, I think you could take your own advice and not take offense--my response was pretty mild, and ended with a "smilie."

I'll post some shots "like that" some other time, that aren't test shots and were taken with other lenses.

take care...

Moonhawk--I find nothing boring about your weed garden shot. On the contrary, for me the composition, focus, color, contrast and crop are all great. I wish I had made it-I'd put it in an ornate frame and on the wall. bob

Thank you, Bob.

Different strokes, I guess--no worries here. It's nowhere near my best shot of the weeds/ wildflowers, I was getting frustrated trying to put together a series of test shots for the new lens, so I shot that. Glad you liked it. I'll post a good one in the gallery someday soon.

Meanwhile, I have a shot posted there --in the gallery forum. Check it out, if you like. "View from my back deck"

I agree completely, in the most respectful way possible, the test shot didn't really showcase any strengths of the lens. that could have been a cell phone pic.

Where did you get your lens?

Fine. I just wanted to post something--I thought it showed some sharpness, and I'm trying to figure the best way to post photos here that look somewhat like they do when I'm done with them in LR. If it did, I hope you would think it was an improvement over a cell phone. It doesn't look very good on here, especially in terms of lighting and color, kind of dark and washed out, I agree. :)

Got the lens from Amazon.

I would not worry about what is being said on UHH. Being overly critical aggressive and frankly obnoxious is a way of life.

Do your test(s), post your things, give your opinion and don't give a *** about the reactions.

You can describe me like that if you like rongningnong.
After all, we have butted heads a few times in your irrationality.
But I think you owe StefC an apology.
I have never seen him be anything like that at all.

Thanks, Ron

Not to worry, I have very thick skin, and, really, I haven't taken anything personally.

And it's not my best shot, by a long shot, so I'll just do better in the future.

I'm really more concerned about making my images posted here look like they do in LR, otherwise posting them is a waste of time.

The only way to do that is to select the highest JPG quality, use the 'store original' or as I now do, post somewhere else and give a link to the image. I use MS HDview to post some inconsequential images on the net which upset many folks as you need to load that software onto your PC before being to view the images (and it is for windows only :hunf: ).

Thanks, that's what I've done (the highest quality jpeg and store original).

I posted one to Sharpshooter's topic "Your award winning shots" or words to that effect. Check it out and tell me how it looks.
